1. Roomba Q5 Pro

The Q5 Pro and its sibling, the more expensive Q7 Max Series, are among the most powerful robot vacuums we've test. They are equipped with top-of-the-line motors which can pull up to 5,500 Pascals of suction force. Like other iRobots with premium features (including the most powerful model), they use smart mapping to create detailed floorplans and avoid household obstacles like cords and furniture legs. They also feature carpet boost, a feature which boosts the robot's power when it spots a lot of dirt on the carpet to get it cleaned quickly.

Both the Q5 as well as the Q7 Max Series get very good scores in our tests on floors that are bare and are particularly effective in removing pet hair. However, they have several flaws that prevent them from being our top choice. One of them is that the Q5's navigation system doesn't feature AI-powered obstacle avoidance technology, so it's prone to get caught up in shoes and socks and can't navigate rooms with a lot of people efficiently in our tests. It also doesn't come with a camera to look around corners.

Still, it's very good for those who want to save money on an iRobot Roomba and you have a mostly unfinished home or office. It's also very quiet and works while you are at work or in school. The only thing it lacks that you won't find in the pricier iRobot Roomba X30 is edge-to-edge vacuuming of floors with no floor.  get more info 's also less effective in mopping, relying on disposable wet wipes that don't stay on for long and don't take on dried-on debris. The Q5 does have an auto-emptying dock, however. And, if you have to, you can switch the mopping pad to dry ones in a matter of seconds.

2. iRobot Roomba X30

The iRobot Roomba X30 packs impressive mopping and vacuuming into an elegant, compact package. Its intelligent cleaning maps as well as fluid navigation make it simple to clean, and effective in tackling larger particles like pet hair. It also features self-emptying dustbins with powerful suction and support for virtual boundaries. It's the most efficient robot hoover for carpets, although it lags behind some competitors in deep cleaning.

This top-performing mop and vacuum combo uses advanced sensor technology to stay clear of obstacles and pet waste and it learns your home's layout over time to ensure more efficient cleaning. You can alter its cleaning schedule and customize zones using the app that is well-designed. Its battery life is average in comparison to other models.

You can tell the X30 Ultra to remove its mops and to extend them when it's in a carpeted area, which helps prevent cross-contamination. The flex arm can be used to reach beneath furniture with low levels and along baseboards. However, it's not equipped with the same level of washboard performance as our other Editors' Choice picks, the Ecovacs Deebot Ozmo N8 Professional+ and the iRobot Combo j9+.

During testing during testing, the X30 Ultra was the fastest robot vacuum/mop to complete an entire house, finishing with the battery at 66 percent left. It also did a good job of cleaning a mix of floors and rooms with various flooring types, such as certain area rug. Its obstacle detection was top-of-the-line and it swiftly eluded fake dog socks, turds, shoes, and bundles of cables.

It's more expensive than iRobot Combo v9+ or iRobot Roomba j9+ but has superior suction and an onboard bin that automatically empties into the base. It also supports voice commands through Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. It even cleans the floor after vacuuming, a feature that we've not seen on other robot vacuum/mop combinations.

3. IRobot Roomba X40

This robot vacuum and mop combination is sleek and has a circular design that looks more like the regular Roomba model than the boxy models of the rivals. It is one of our most appealing looking robot vacuums. The latest flagship model from iRobot is also the most intelligent. It comes with advanced features, like Enhanced Dirt Detection as well as future compatibility (another company's robot that can wash mop pads on its own).

It's also the only robot vacuum or mop that scored the perfect 10/10 out of 10 in our evaluations. This is thanks to a mix of modern sensors, including a restructured light system, camera, and a variety of lasers. The X40 Ultra is also the only robot in our tests that can fully self-refill and empty its base station, and it boasts the industry's highest suction of 12,000Pa and self-cleaning mop pads.

Like other iRobot models like the X40 is user-friendly, with a simple mobile app interface, and integration with Amazon Alexa, Apple HomeKit as well as Google Assistant. The only real drawback is that it's an eerily noisy device that could be an issue if you use it in the morning before work or in the evening as you try to fall asleep.

It's also a bit expensive, but it's not as expensive as the Ecovacs Omni or the Roborock S8 MaxV Ultra, both of which are equally powerful and better-looking. If you're willing to live with a bit more noise and some extra cost, this is a very efficient two-in-one device that should satisfy most people.

4. iRobot Roomba L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra is the top-of-the line robot vacuum and mop. It comes with a variety of advanced features that help you forget your chores. The smart robot makes use of LIDAR and structured lighting to map out floorplans and identify obstacles. It navigates more intelligently than its premium competitors. It also has a front-mounted camera for real-time hazard detection, although this wasn't quite foolproof in our testing and was often confused by power cords or other obstructions.

The vacuum cleaner has the capacity to suction up to 7,000 Pascals which is more than enough to accomplish the task. It also has a feature known as "Intelligent Dirt Detection", that regulates the vacuum's power and adjusts the frequency of cleaning for different areas in the house depending on how dirty those areas are.

For larger houses, it's worth opting for models with spot or zone cleaning modes that allow you to instruct the robot to clean one specific area of your home using the app or via voice commands. If you have furniture, a stair mode is also a good option. For families with busy schedules recharge functions and resume feature that allows your robot vacuum to resume where it left off can be very beneficial.

iRobot RX3

The RX3 is a cleaner with more intelligence than you might expect from its price tag. It vacuums well, picking up 55% debris in our tests. (It was second to the Roomba Q5 Pro).  get more info  mops using a single pad that uses a reciprocating motion, which is cleaner than the other robot mop cleaners we've examined.  best automatic vacuum 's also highly self-sufficient, with a fully-featured app, and a self-emptying, washable base.

It can be used to make cleaning schedules, plan the perfect spot for cleaning or prioritise your dirtiest rooms to improve performance. The app also gives access to a variety of features, such as seasonal suggestions, custom maps and advanced settings for your cleaning.

It is also able to reach corners and under furniture more easily because its shape is more rectangular. It also has a strong 8000 Pascal suction and combs with intelligent technology for pet hair. You can also create a spot-cleaner which will thoroughly clean an area.

It is capable of vacuuming but is more prone to get caught on low thresholds and is a bit noisier than the other top robotic vacuums we've examined. It also comes with an app that's not as intuitive, and a smaller base station that does not double as a bin to empty.
